Rivaroxanan was recommended by my mothers doctor for her Atrial Fibrillation, but I resisted giving it to her, not just for the horrendous co-pay but because my mum had problems with her Bisphosphonates bone medication, which resulted in her inability to swallow, and had to be stopped. But her doctor kept on insisting on taking the blood thinner, which I relented to, and no sooner did she start on that, when she got disfiguring red and black blotches all over her body, and a resulting stroke, all of which I blame myself and have terrible guilt. What kind of systems puts profits above the value of human life?

Very sad to hear the suffering of your mother. Don't feel guilty. The doctors typically have no interest in keeping up to date with adverse reactions. In some countries they get paid directly by Big Pharma for writing prescriptions.
