I have a remarkable photograph of a defiant Gough on the steps of parliament, and I was just thinking of his speech "well may we say God Save the Queen...because nothing will save the Governor General" when I logged on and there was your post.
Really believe the way forward is to become a Republic and take control of our destiny as a nation... would like to read your discussion with Gough about a Republic..I just read Craig Murray's article "The Four Mentors of King Charles"...shows what an objectionable person Charles is...time to cast off the monarchy....
Thanks Cherith, I had an article published in hard copy in the Fremantle Herald many years ago on my discussion with Gough about a Republic and subsequent submission to Malcolm Turnbull's Inquiry. I'll have to reconstruct it for Substack.
I am already a paid subscriber. I don't see a way to send you a donation. I tried to send myself a gift subscription, but substack is smart and said that I could not send a gift to myself.
I think I was unclear. I was already a paid subscriber before you needed cash to get to Canberra. I'd send you a donation for that, too, if only you could set up some way that I could pay you.

Can you see the word "subscribed" ? I tried editing buttons. Perhaps there is an option under "manage your subscription.
