JAMA Ophthalmology Refuses to Publish my Comment on Eye Damage Paper
Nearly 1 in 50 Americans were prescribed deadly Semaglutide in 2023. Blindness cases are rampant. I offered comment on likely cause, but Editors refused to publish or forward to the authors.
Here is the email I received overnight, with no reason offered.
Here are “some of the reasons” for them to choose not to publish.
It appears they have suppressed my contribution to Science for “other reasons”.
The article I commented on was by Katz et al. which includes a podcast with the Chief Editor. I added it in my February Update.
In my comment, I was my normal exceedingly polite self and simply referred them to my living review on Semaglutide and related molecule Eye Damage.
My interpretation is that they don’t want any mechanistic discussion and are floating a dubious distracting “Hypothesis” related to blood glucose levels, “rather than a toxic effect of the drugs”.
The email I received was “from a mailing list” that suggests they sent out rejections to multiple commentators at the same time.
What do you think? Do you know anyone else who submitted a comment to JAMA ?
I guess you were just too polite
The modern day pHarma Pharisees will tolerate no opposition. They’re the blind leading the blind.
