Catholic Bishops actively Promote Pfizer over AstraZeneca in Australia
One in five Australians identify as Catholic and their clergy boast about promoting Mass Jabbing in their late Submission to the Covid19 Royal Commission Terms of Reference Inquiry, pushing Pfizer.
Outraged I am!

Support for the vaccine rollout
Australia’s Catholic bishops supported the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, encouraging Catholics to consider their duty to act towards the common good and in solidarity with vulnerable people in the community. The Church issued information to inform Australian Catholics about the vaccine.8
Bishops encouraged Catholics to receive a COVID-19 vaccine when it became available to them, saying it is morally permissible to accept any vaccine.
The Bishops Commission for Life, Family and Public Engagement acknowledged that there were ethical concerns about the way some of the vaccines have been developed or tested. That included the use of cell lines derived from an abortion in the 1970s.
Despite those concerns, the bishops followed the guidance of the Holy See’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in urging people to be vaccinated for their own health, and for the health of the wider community, noting there is a particular imperative to protect the health of those who are vulnerable.
The Commission said, “it is morally acceptable to receive COVID-19 vaccines that have used cell lines from aborted fetuses in their research and production process”.
The Commission added that “if you are only offered one option, you may receive whichever vaccine you are offered, including the AstraZeneca one, with a clear conscience”. For those who have “a serious reason” not to receive the vaccine, they are “morally obliged to do their utmost, by other protective means and appropriate behaviour, to avoid contracting COVID-19 themselves and to avoid transmission of the disease”.
The bishops’ advice expressed a strong preference for people to have a choice of which COVID-19 vaccine they receive. When that choice is offered, Catholics should choose the least morally compromised vaccine – which in Australia would mean the Pfizer vaccine.
Interesting that the Submission 80 does not mention Moderna or NovaVax.
The Late Submission is signed by:
Most Rev Peter A Comensoli
Archbishop of Melbourne
Chair, Bishops Commission for Life, Family and Public Engagement
There is of course absolutely no mention of Jab Deaths or Injuries, so the issue of Victim Compensation is simply not in the Bishops’ minds.
